Lesson 185 – Some Stock terms in Chinese


Hello, everyone. Welcome back. This is Baixue’s Chinese Language Learning Program. Last time we learned how to use “chě, chèn and bù rú” from Conversation 10. Today, we will learn some stocks terms in Chinese.

gǔ piào
   (Stocks; Stock)

chǎo gǔ
      (Investing in Stocks; stock speculation)
tā chǎo gǔ piào shū le bù shǎo qián, tā de jiā tíng zhǐ hǎo
                           ,            
miǎn qiáng guò rì zi.

(He played the market and lost a lot of money, and his family scratched a living.)

gǔ piào shàng zhǎng
                  (stocks rose, stocks ballooning)

gǔ piào xià dié
          (stock fell; )

gǔ piào fēn hóng
            (stock dividends)

gǔ piào jiāo yì
         (stock exchange; stock trading)

gǔ piào shì chǎng
             (stock market; stock markets)

zài gǔ piào shì chǎng shàng zhuàn qián.

(To make money in the stock market.)

gǔ piào dài mǎ
          (Stock Code)

gǔ piào dài mǎ shì duō shǎo?
                    ? (What is the stock code?)

chí gǔ rén
     (shareholder)

tào lì
  (Interest Arbitrage)

nǐ zhī dào rú hé jìn xíng tào lì jiāo yì?

(Do you know how to make money with arbitrage trading?)

 jī zhǔn shì chǎng  jià zhí
                    (Base Market value)

háng qíng kàndié
               (bear market; Bearish)

xióng shì
        (bear market)  

xióng shì shì gǔ piào hang qíng kàn dié de shì chǎng.

(A bear market is a situation in which share prices are falling rapidly.)

háng qíng kàn zhǎng
                  (Bullish)

niú shì
   (bull market)

wǒ duì xióng shì bìng bù kǒng huāng, niú shì què huì ràng
                               ,                  
wǒ gǎn dào bú shū fú.

(I don't panic in bear markets and bull markets make me uncomfortable.)

píng cāng jiāo yì
              (closing transaction)
