Lesson 176 – Conversation 4 from bú jiàn bú sàn


Hello, everyone. Welcome back. This is Baixue’s Chinese Language Learning Program. Last time we talked about the difference between jiā rén and rén jia. Today, we will learn conversation 4 from the Chinese movie—不见不散 (bú jiàn bú sàn).

bú jiàn bú sàn
        ( Be There or Be Square )

 nǐ xiào de gòu tián de. wǒ dū kuài bèi nǐ má sū le,
               的。我             酥了,
jǐng chá de yǎn shén dōu bù duì le a.
                         了啊。
(Your smile was sweet enough to stun me and make
the cop’s eyes expression wired. )

nǐ jiù bié zài qì wǒ le, dōu yīn wèi gěi nǐ shuō huà cái
      了,都                     
chuǎng de hóng dēng er.  nǐ zěn me nà me duō huà a?
                                          啊?
(Please do not try to drive me crazy. (or Give me a break.)
I wouldn’t have run the red light if you weren’t talking
to me. How could you talk so much?)

zhè bù shì jiàn nǐ gāo xìng ma!  nǐ shuō zán liǎ shì bù
                      嘛!你              
shì yǒu yuán?
        缘?
(I am just so happy to see you! So, don’t you think that
 we are destined?)

 éi, nǐ zhè yī nián dōu zài gàn ma ne? hái zài mài nǐ de
,                      呢?        
rén shēn bǎo xiǎn ne?
                 呢?
(So, what have you been doing for the last year? 
Still selling life insurance?)

wǒ xiàn zài mài mù dì le. nǐ yào shi dǎ suàn bǎ zhè bǎ gǔ
               地了.                      
tou mái zài luò shān jī, zhǎo wǒ. gē gē wǒ xiàn zài shì
                矶,找    我。哥             
méi guī gǎng mù dì de agent (dài lǐ).
               agent    理。
(No, I am selling cemetery plots now. If you want to bury your bones in L.A. in the near future, I am your man. I am an agent for Rose Hill cemetery.)

nǐ jiù quē dé ba, nǐ.
      ,  你。
(How wicked you are! Or you are so bad.)

zhè shì jī dé a, zěn me quē dé le?
    积德啊,            德了?
(I am doing a good thing. How could this be bad?)

 éi, zán chī zhōng cān ba.
诶,咱                吧。
(Let’s eat Chinese Food.)

nǐ bié gǎi zhǔ yì le, dōu kuài dào le. zǒu zǒu zǒu, āi, wǒ qǐng nǐ.
        意了,             了。走       ,   ,        你。
(Don’t change your mind now. We are almost there. Go, go, go. 
It’s my treat.)

shì a, shì nǐ qǐng wǒ ya, chī zhōng cān yě shì nǐ qǐng wǒ ya.
  ,          ,                           呀。
(I know it is on you even if we have the Chinese food.)

How are you? Steven. jīn er zěn me nà me qīng jìng a?
How are you? Steven.                     啊?
(Why is it so quiet today?)

rén dōu zài dì shàng pā zhe ne.
                       呢。
(Everybody is laying on the ground.)
