Chinese Language Learning Program Lesson 203 --hóng huāng zhī lì (洪荒之力)

Chinese Language Learning Program
Lesson 203 – hóng huāng zhī lì (洪荒之力)

Hello, everyone. Welcome back. This is Baixue’s Chinese Language Learning Program. Last time we learned about the difference between qù běi jīng le (去北京了) and qù le běi jīng (去了北京) in Chinese. Today, we will learn hóng huāng zhī lì (洪荒之力) in Chinese.

Chinese Olympic swimmer Fu Yuanhui has become a super star on many Chinese social media after she finished the women’s 100m backstroke in Rio

In her post-race interview, she said one idiom: hóng huāng zhī lì
(洪荒之力)

Literally, hóng huāng zhī lì (洪荒之力) means the power strong enough to change the universe or destroy the universe.

She actually wanted to express “I have tried my best, I have given my full play or I spared no effort”.

Ok, that is all for today.
