Hello, everyone. Welcome back. This is Baixue’s Chinese Language Learning Program. Last time, we talk about Personal Pronouns. Today, we will learn Possessive Pronoun in Chinese.

Example:

1.   First possessive pronoun

zhè shì wǒ de shū.
 这 是     书。(This is my book.)

wǒ men rè ài wǒ men de zǔ guó.
               国。
(We love our country.)

2.   Second possessive pronoun

          wǒ kě yǐ yòng yī yòng nǐ de bǐ manǐ de
            以 用      用   吗?

          wǒ de hǎo yòng.
              好  用。
         (May I use your pen? Yours works better.)

3.   Third possessive pronoun

zhè yǒu běn shū, shì tā de (shū).
 这 有 本 书,     ()
(There is a book. It's hers.)
        
zhè shì wǒ debú shì tā de.
这 是     笔,不   
(This pen is mine, not his.)

zhè shì wǒ (men) de fáng jiān, nà shì tā (men) de.
这 是     ()   的 房  间,那     () 的
(This is my(our)room and that one is his(their)room.)

Today’s idiom is “ (huà shé tiān zú, 画蛇添足。)”---means “Paint a snake with feet. (paint the lily) which means that “ The action [measure; step]  just taken was really unnecessary.”
