Lesson 64 – How to say Seasons in Chinese

Hello, everyone. Welcome back. This is Baixue’s Chinese Language Learning Program. We all know that there are four seasons in a year in most places in the world. Today, we will talk about how to say four seasons in Chinese.

chūn              xià                    qiū                 dōng

   春(spring)   夏(summer)    秋(autumn)    冬(winter)

chūn  tiān               xià  tiān               

   春    天(spring)     夏    天(summer)   

qiū tiān                  dōng tiān

秋   天(autumn)        冬    天(winter)

chūn tiān lái le.

   春    天   来了。(Spring is coming.)

dōng tiān tiān qì hán léng.

   冬    天    天  气  寒    冷。(It is cold in winter.)

gǎn xiè nǐ péi wǒ dù guò le chūn xià qiū dōng.

  感  谢  你  陪  我  度   过  了    春    夏   秋    冬。

(Thank your for being with me through seasons.)

yī nián yǒu sì jì--chūn xià qiū dōng.

一  年    有  四季--  春     夏   秋   冬。

(There are four seasons in a year-spring,summer,autumn and winter.)

We also know that there are four quarters in a year. In Chinese, we say:

yī nián yǒu sì gè jì dù.

一  年    有  四  个季 度。(There are four quarters in a year.)

dì yī jì dù

第一季度(The first quarter)

dì èr jì dù

第二季度(The second quarter)

dì sān jì dù

第  三 季 度(The third quarter)

dì sì jì dù

第四季度(The fourth quarter)
