Lesson 115 – Household duties in Chinese



Hello, everyone. Welcome back. This is Baixue’s Chinese Language Learning Program. Last time we talked about future activities. Today, we will talk about household duties.

jiā wù
  (household duties)

zhè shàn mén de suǒ huài le, wǒ yào xiū yī xià.
                         ,          下。
(The lock to this door is broken, so I need to fix it.)

nǐ néng bāng wǒ bǎ zhè fù huà guà dào qiáng shàng ma?
                                                   吗?
(Could you please help me hang this painting on the wall?)

bāng wǒ kàn kàn guà de zhí ma?
                         吗?
(Please help me check if it is straight.)

wǒ yī bān zhōu mò zuò jiā wù.
                     务。
(I usually do my household duties on the weekends.)

wǒ yī bān zhōu liù xǐ dì tǎn.
             毯。
(I usually clean the carpet on Saturday.)

wǒ měi gè yuè de yuè dǐ fù xià gè yuè de fáng zū.
                              租。
(I pay the next month's rent at the end of each month.)

shuǐ lóng tóu yǐ jīng guāng le, dàn shì hái zài dī shuǐ.
                                     水。
(The faucet has been light, but still dripping.)

wǒ zhōu sān hé zhōu rì xǐ yī fú.
                    日洗衣服。
(I do my laundry on Wednesdays and Sundays.)

wǒ zhǔn bèi xià wǔ gē cǎo.
                  草。
(I am going to mow the lawn this afternoon. )

nǐ néng bāng wǒ zhěng lǐ fáng jiān ma?
                                吗?
(Could you please help clean up the room?)

bǎ wán jù fàng dào wán jù xiāng lǐ, bù wá wá fàng dào
                          ,            
wán jù jià shàng.
         上。
(Put the toys in the toy box, and toy dolls into the rack.)

wǒ xiǎng bǎ wǒ de wò shì fěn shuā chéng tiān lán sè.
                                            色。
(I want to paint my bedroom navy blue.)

qǐng bǎ qián zi hé luó sī dāo dì gěi wǒ, duō xiè.
                      我,多    谢。
(Please pass me the pliers and screwdrivers, thank you.)

jīn wǎn nǐ lái shuā wǎn ba.
      你来             吧。
(Tonight, you do the dishes, please.)

Today’s idiom is:

jiā jiā yǒu běn nán niàn de jīng
                    
(Every family has a skeleton in the cupboard. ; Each family has its own problems.)
