Hello, everyone. Welcome back. This is Baixue’s Chinese Language Learning Program. Last time we conversation 5 from the Chinese movie—不见不散 ( bú jiàn bú sàn). Today, we will learn several homonyms in Chinese.

tóng yīn yì yì cí
      异义词 (homonym)

jiāng
     (river)

cháng jiāng
       (the Changjiang [Yangtze] River)

  (syrup, thick liquid)

dòu jiāng
      (soymilk)

jiāng
  (ginger, a surname)

shēng jiāng
          (ginger)

      (corpse;  zombie)

wǒ de shǒu zhǐ dòng jiāng le.

(My fingers are numb [stiff] with cold.)

     (report, cover, news report, information)

yǒu bào dào shuō, yǒu 3 jiā gōng sī zài qià tán zhè zhǒng

      (report for duty, check in, register, report one's arrival)
