Lesson 74 – At a hotel in China


Hello, everyone. Welcome back. This is Baixue’s Chinese Language Learning Program. Last time we talked about shopping in China. Today, we will talk about at a hotel in China.

If you are planning a short trip to China. You had better to reserve a room in the hotel in advance. Do you know how to make a reservations in Chinese? Today will talk about this topic.

Example conversations:

1.   Reserving a room

A: nín hǎo, zhè lǐ shì XX bīn guǎn. qǐng wèn yǒu shé
        好,       XX      馆,              
     me kě yǐ bāng nín de?
                 的?
   (Hello, this is XX hotel. How may I help you?)

B: wǒ yào yù dìng yī gè fáng jiān.
                         间。
   (I would like to reserve a room, please.)

A: dān rén jiān hái shì shuāng rén jiān?
                                     间?
   (Single room or double room?)

B: shuāng rén jiān
                     (Double room, please.)

A: nín shén me shí hou lái zhù?
                      住?
(When will you check in?)

B: xià gè yuè wǔ hào dào, shí'èr hào lí kāi.
              5       到,   12        开。
   (I’m checking in on the morning of the 5th next month
   and checking out on the morning of the 12th .)

A: hǎo de, wǒ xū yào yī xiē nǐ de gè rén xìn xī.
                          息。
   (Ok, I will need some of your personal information.)

B: méi wèn tí.
            题。(No problem.)

2.   Checking in

A: xiǎo jiě nǐ hǎo, wǒ shàng gè yuè yù dìng le 225 fáng jiān.
            好,我                      225       间。
   (Hello, Miss. I reserved room 225 last month.)

B: huān yíng guāng lín. qǐng chū shì nín de zhèng jiàn.
                         临, 请                      件。
   (Welcome to our hotel. Could you please show me your ID?)

A: hǎo de, gěi nǐ.
        的,给  你。(Ok, here you are.)

B: xiè xiè. nín de fáng jiān zài èr lóu, zhè shì nín de fáng kǎ.
       谢,您                楼,这              卡。
   (Thanks. Your room is on the 2nd floor. Here is your room card.)
   qǐng gēn wǒ lái.
              来。(Please  come  with me.)

A: hǎo de, xiè xiè.
        的,谢  谢。

B: zhè jiù shī nín de fáng jiān. nín jué de zěn me yàng?
                      间,                ?
    (This  is  your  room. What  do  you  think  of  it ?) 

A: zhè gè fáng jiān hěn hǎo.
                       好。(This room is good.)

OR:   zhè gè fáng jiān méi yǒu yáng tái, néng huàn yí gè
                                      台,          
      yǒu yáng tái de fáng jiān ma?
                           吗?
      (This room does not have a balcony. Can I change to
       a  room with a balcony?)

B: duì bù qǐ, yǒu yáng tái de fáng jiān yǐ jing méi yǒu le.
                                        了。
     (Sorry. the  rooms with  balconies are all reserved.)

A: hǎo de. zhè gè fáng jiān duō shǎo qián yì tiān?
         .                                 天?
     (Ok. How much is this room for one day?)

B: yī tiān sān bǎi yuán.
              元。(300 per day.)

A: xiè xie. qǐng wèn, zài nǎ’r duì huàn wài bì?
       谢,             哪儿            币?
(Thank you. Could you please tell me where I can exchange
 foreign currency?)

B: nǐ kě yǐ zài yī céng dà tīng yín háng dài bàn suǒ duì huàn.
                                       换。
(You  can  change  money  at  the  banking  agency  in  the 
hall  on the first  floor.) 
  
A: xiè xie.
       谢。(Thanks.)

B: bú yòng xiè. yǒu shì qǐng dǎ qián tái diàn huà.
             谢。有                          话。
(You are welcome. Please call the reception desk if you need
 something.)

Ok, that is all for today.
