Lesson 90 – Appearance in Chinese


Hello, everyone. Welcome back. This is Baixue’s Chinese Language Learning Program. Last time we talk about identifying people in Chinese. Today, we will talk about appearance in Chinese.

wài biǎo / biǎo miàn
      /          (Appearance)

tā yǒu yì shuāng  lán sè de yǎn jīng.
                           睛。
(He has blue eyes.)

shēn sè pí fū
      (dark-skin)

tā gè zi hěn ǎi
个子    矮。(She is very short.)

wǒ gè zi hěn gāo
   个子      高。(I am tall.)

nǐ  hěn shòu
       瘦。(You are thin.)

tā hěn miáo tiáo
           条。(She is very slim.)

tā shì gè shòu gāo gè'er.
                个儿。(She is tall and slim.)

wǒ yǒu diǎn'er pàng.
             胖。(I am a little bit fat.)

wǒ yǒu yī tóu zhí  fǎ.
           发。(I have straight hair.)

nǐ yǒu yī tóu  hēi  sè de juǎn fǎ.
                   发。
(You have black curly hair.)

bái xuě shì zōng sè de cháng tóu fǎ.
                             
(Bai Xue has long brown hair.)

tā shì duǎn fǎ.
         发。(He has straight hair.)

tā hěn kě'ài.
     可爱。(She is cute.)

tā hěn shuài.
        帅。(He is handsome.)

tā hěn hài xiū.
他很害羞。(He is shy.)

nǐ hěn yōu mò.
         默。(You are very humorous.)

tā hěn fēng qù
          趣。(He is very funny.)

tā shì gè hěn ān jìng de hái zi.
                子。
(He is a very quiet kid.)

tā de jiǔ wō hěn mí rén.
          人。(Her dimples are very charming.)

Ok, today’s idiom is:

huān  tiān xǐ dì
          (entrancementin seventh heavenbe extremely delighted)

tā zhèng huān tiān xǐ dì, bèi tā fù qīn dǎ duàn le.
                  喜地,              了。
(He was interrupted by his father while he was in the midst of his rapture.)
