 Lesson 41 – Cooking in Chinese



Hello, everyone. Welcome back. This is Baixue’s Chinese Language Learning Program. Last time, we talked about cooking equipment in Chinese. Today, we are going to talk cooking in mandarin Chinese.

Before we start, I need to thanks DevotedtoChaos which is a youtube channel name I mentioned before. She is such a wonderful girl. Not mention her previous advice for my videos and website, her sweet message in my website also gave me encouragement to let this Chinese Language Learning Program more helpful. Ok, let’s start today’s learning.

cè liāng/chēng liāng sì fēn zhī yī bēi gán lān yóu.                       
       /                             油。
(Measure ¼ cup of olive oil.)

bà yī sháo suàn qiē chéng xiáo kuài.
                              块。
(Dice 1 tablespoon of garlic.)

xī hóng shì cháo jī dàn
西                (Scrambled egg with tomato)

jiān jī dàn                           zhēng             mó suì
   (fry the eggs)      (steam)      (grate)

káo liáng piàn xūn ròu.
                   肉。 (Broil 2 slices of bacon.)

wēi bō lú                              hōng káo
   (Microwave)              (roast)

yòng yán he hú jiāo fén géi ròu tiáo wèi.
                               味。
(Season the meat with salt and pepper.)

wǒ bà yī gè yáng cōng qiē le piàn
                       片。(I sliced up an onion.)

jiā rù hú luó bo jī  xī qín cháo sān fēn zhōng
      西            3         钟。
(Add the carrots and celery, saute for 3 minutes.)

dùn yī gè xiáo shī
          (simmer for 1 hour.)

bō pí               duò suì               zhú
(peel)         (chop)      (cook)

jiáo dá               hǔn yún            káo gān
    (beat)          (mix)          (bake)
