(Author: Meng Haoran (Tang Dynasty))

chūn mián bù jué xiǎo
                  晓,
(I slept so well, not knowing spring dawn's already here,)

chù chù wén tí niǎo
             鸟。
(Awakened by birds singing everywhere.)

yè lái fēnɡ yǔ shēnɡ
             声,
(All through last night there were strong winds and showers.)

huā luò zhī duō shǎo
                少。
(Do you know the number of fallen flowers?)
