Lesson 92 – How to say “better” and “best”/”most” in Chinese

Hello, everyone. Welcome back. This is Baixue’s Chinese Language Learning Program. Last time we leaned a Chinese poem. Today, we will talk about how to say “better” and “best ”/”most”  in Chinese.

hǎo                       gèng hǎo/ bǐ jiào hǎo
 (good)                     /      (better)   

zuì hǎo                    zuì
    (best)           (most)

bǐ jiào dà                  bǐ jiào xiǎo
   (larger)           (smaller)

zuì piào liang                               zuì xǐ huan
           (most beautiful)         (like most)

zuì guì de
    (the most expensive)

zuì dà de                            zuì xiǎo de
   (the largest)             (youngest, smallest)

1.   zhè liǎng jiàn yī fú nǎ yī jiàn gèng hǎo?
              哪一           ?
(Which is the better of these two dresses?)

2.   nǐ zhōng wén shuō de bǐ wǒ hǎo.
                       好。
(Your Chinese is better than mine.)

3.   liǎng běn shū zhōng, yìng pí dì nà běn bǐ jiào guì yī xiē.
                 中,                   些。
(The hardcover one is the more expensive of the two books.)

4.   chūn tiān tiān qì yuè lái yuè nuǎn huo le.
                               了。
(It gets warmer and warmer in spring.)

5.   nǐ shì zuì bàng de.
            的。(You are the best.)

6.   zhè ge shì wǒ men néng zhǎo dào de zuì pián yi de 
                                    便       
bìng guǎn le.
 宾         (This is the cheapest hotel we could find.)
