Lesson 177 – Conversation 5 from bú jiàn bú sàn


Hello, everyone. Welcome back. This is Baixue’s Chinese Language Learning Program. Last time we conversation 4 from the Chinese movie—不见不散 ( bú jiàn bú sàn). Today, we will learn conversation 5 from the Chinese movie—不见不散 ( bú jiàn bú sàn).

bú jiàn bú sàn
        ( Be There or Be Square )

Woman: dà wǎn shàng de, nǐ zěn me pǎo zhè'er lái le?
                               ,              了?
                (What are you doing here this time of night?)

Man:  bái tiān rén jiā yě bù ràng nǐ zài zhè'er dāi ya, nèi tiān
                                      ,    
          nǐ yī shuō zài BMW gōng zuò, wǒ jiù zhī dào nǐ zhǔn
          你一        BMW        作,我            
          shì qīng jié gōng.
                      工。
          (They won’t let me stay here at day time. When you told
           me that you worked at BMW, I knew you could only be a
           cleaning lady.)

Woman:  zhè yī nián wǒ bǎ yī bèi zi de chuāng hù dōu cā le,
                                             擦了,
                 yī bèi zi dì dì dōu sǎo le.
                        了。
                (I’ve cleaned all of the windows and swept all the floors
                 in my whole life this year.)

Man: nǐ zhè jiù duì le. nǐ néng dǎ zhè zhǒng gōng jiù zhèng
                 对了                               
         míng nǐ tà shí xià lái le. xiān cóng kǔ huó lèi huó gàn
                   来了。                      
         qǐ, dǎ hǎo jī chǔ xiān kǔ hòu tián. wǒ jiù shì xiān cóng
         ,                    甜。              
         cā bō lí kāi shǐ de.
          玻璃      的。
         (Great, if you can do this, it proves that you have
          settled down. Building a foundation, it’s always bitter
          first and sweet later. I started with cleaning windows too.)        

Woman: yǒu shé me shì er nǐ kuài shuō. yī huǐ'er jiān gōng
                           事儿         说。一   会儿       
               kàn jiàn wǒ liáo tiān, lǎo bǎn fēi chǎo le wǒ bù kě.
                             天,老                   可。
               (So, what’s going on? Just speak out. If they see me 
                Talking to you, my boss will fire me.)

Man:  wǒ jīn tiān ràng nǐ bǎ lǎo bǎn chǎo le.
                                    了。
          (I am here to let you fire your boss.)

Woman:  qiú nǐ le, zǒu ba.
                   你了,走  吧。
                 (I am begging you to leave, please.)

Man:  bù shì wǒ zǒu, shì nǐ zǒu. cí le zhè pò gōng zuò.
                  走,   走。辞了              作。
          (Not me, you are the one who is going to leave.
           Quit your job.)

Woman: cí le zhè gōng zuò, wǒ hē xī běi fēng qù a.
               辞了            作,我  西         去 啊。
               (And then, what should I do after I quit the job?)

Man:  wǒ gěi nǐ zhǎo le gè gōng zuò, nián xīn 2 wàn. lǚ xíng
                               作,        2   万。旅  
           shè dǎo yóu, wǒ shì fù zǒng, lǎo bǎn shuō wǒ péng
                   游,我         总,老                  
           yǒu. gàn de dōu shì guāng tiān huà rì zhī xià de shì.
           友。                                   事。
          shì xiōng shì jí shì fú shì huò, nǐ zì jǐ diān liàng.
                           ,  你自己       量。
           (I found a job for you, $20,000 a year as a tour guide.
            I am the vice-president and the boss is a friend. We are
            doing the real work. For better or for worse, a blessing or
            a misfortune, it’s up to you.)

Woman: xíng xíng xíng, xiè xiè nǐ la.  wǒ de shì er jiù bù yòng
                           行,谢   啦。我     事儿         
               nǐ cāo xīn le, nǐ gǎn jǐn zǒu ba.
                    ,           吧。
               (Ok, ok, ok. Thanks. But you do not have to worry about
                me. Please just go.)

Man:  míng tiān wǒ děng nǐ diàn huà.
                                     话。
          (I will wait for your call tomorrow.)

Ok, that is all for today.
