Lesson 107 – A tongue twister about “ao” in Chinese

Hello, everyone. Welcome back. This is Baixue’s Chinese Language Learning Program. Last time we talked about some computer terms in Chinese. Today, we will have a tongue twister about the vowel “ao” in Chinese.

dào cǎo dào diào dào,
(Discard the grass but drop the rice)

dào cǎo dào diào dào,
(Discard the grass but drop the rice)

cǎo dǎo dào yě dǎo.
倒。(The gress fall, so do the rice.)
dào cǎo bié dào dào,
稻,(Discard the grass, not the rice,)

cào dào bié dào cǎo.
草。(Drop the rice, not the grass.)

Today’s idiom is:

zì yán zì yǔ
    (keep on chattering though no one is listening;
talk to oneself)

tā zài zì yán zì yǔ.
 在 自   语。(He is murmuring to himself.)

Ok, that is all for today.

xiè  xiè!

    ! (Thanks!)

xià  cì  jiàn
     !  (See you next time!)
