Lesson 125 – A Chinese tongue twister—en and --ing
Hello, everyone. Welcome back. This is Baixue’s Chinese
Language Learning Program. Last time we talked about Chinese Question Words. Today,
we will have a Chinese tongue twister—en and –ing.
pén hé píng
盆 和 瓶
(Pan and Bottle)
zhuō shàng yǒu gè pén,
桌 上 有 个 盆,
(A pan is on the table)
pén li yǒu gè píng,
盆 里 有 个 瓶,
(there's a bottle in the
pan)
pēng pēng pēng,
砰 砰 砰
(bang, bang, bang.)
shì píng pèng pén,
是 瓶 碰 盆
(Is it the bottle
hitting the pan,)
hái shì pén pèng píng.
还 是 盆 碰 瓶。
(or the pan hitting the
bottle?)
Today’s idiom is:
qí hǔ nán xià
骑 虎 难 下 (ride a tiger and find it hard to get off;
get into a position from which there is no retiring.)
tā fā xiàn zì jǐ yǐ jīng
qí hǔ nán xià le.
他发 现 自己已 经 骑 虎 难 下 了。
(He found himself have
got into a position from which there was no retiring.)
